Rag Week

This is usually the bit where the newly elected RAG Chair tells you all about RAG Week and how you can help to raise lots of money for charity — simply by having a fantastic time! However, unfortunately no student nominated themselves to stand as RAG Chair in time for the elections last April.

RAG Week is basically made up of lots of fun events and entertainment — very much like Freshers’ Week, except that all the funds raised go to charity. We generally raise around £6-7,000 per year for the chosen charities. Being RAG Chair is not just about organising RAG Week as the chair is also a part-time officer of the Executive Committee and so help to run the SU and often deputise for the SU and AU presidents. They may also be President of the Volunteer Society and organise charitable activities all year round.

If you would be interested in standing for the role of RAG Chair, or would like to be a ‘Raggie’ and help to raise funds and organise RAG Week— then please contact the SU and you will very
much be welcomed.

It’s a fantastic opportunity to get involved with your students’ union and it will look great
on your CV!

Details for RAG Week 2011 are yet to be confirmed! Keep an eye out for details of the upcoming charity events! We’ll aslo be adding pictures and details of our previous RAG Week events very soon!
