Hi everyone. My name is Jonathan Miller your elected Students’ Union President for 2011/12. I am looking forward to making your time at St Mary’s the best years of your life, whether that be socially or academically. Team SU have been working vigorously to make this a fantastic year for you and to build and maintain our high standards so that they will last for future years.

My main aim for this year is for every student no matter what course they do to be united under the SU banner and for there to be more student led activities. This year I would like to see more faces becoming involved in the SU as it’s your union and we are here working for you. Whether you choose to be involved in a club or society, the Executive Committee or taking part in our events, we at the SU would love for you to be part of something great. If you find something that interests you please get in touch as we would love to have your input for promoting and improving your students’ union.

Hi Everyone,

My name is Sam Grayson.  I have the privilege of being the St Mary’s Athletic Union President 2011-2012.  This is such a historic year for Sport and St Mary’s is at the heart of that.  I am proud to be the first Athletic Union president to be able to present the fantastic new facilities that will only enhance student sport. 

St Mary’s lends itself to being a university with a real community feel and great togetherness between students regardless of affiliation.  It is my passion to harness this wonderful attribute we posses and move forward into our Olympic year with great pride. 

I will do everything in my power this year to answer queries, provide passionate and fair student representation and support the St Mary’s student body.  I’m convinced that Sport at St Mary’s is growing and improving, with last year’s BUCS rankings improvement and the hard work that has been put in over the summer. This year we will develop and grow into the Sporting institution that the students here deserve.

I’m Gary Coates and as SMSU General Manager, my job is to make sure everything runs smoothly on a day to day basis. SMSU is lucky to have two fantastic sabbatical officers in Jon and Sam this year and under their leadership, we’re all looking to make sure we can make your experience at St. Mary’s the best it possibly can be.

There are also plenty of opportunities to get involved in SMSU, through volunteering or helping with our events programme or getting involved in our student council and other activities, having been involved in a Student Union during my time at uni, I highly recommend it so come and say hello!

Hi, I’m Linda, and I work as Office Administrator for the Students’ Union.

I perform the majority of administrative tasks for the two Presidents, whilst running the shop and box office, and helping to co-ordinate events.  I love every aspect of the job but the best part is getting to know you all and helping you in any way I can.  So, please come and visit me in the SU Hub whenever you have the time – you’re always welcome!
