Traffic is choking Britain’s roads and trouble shooter Kris Murrin is on a mission to halt this. Her aim is simple for just one day, Kris will persuade a town to leave their cars at home and go car free.
The final episode of The Woman Who Stops Traffic airs Tuesday 12th March at Channel 4 at 9pm
Channel 4 have also created the UK Car Free Map, which anyone can contribute to. The application lets you pledge which car journeys you will give up, and measures how far these are from by postcode then places these on a map, to produce the UK Car Free Map. The amount of C02 emissions that will be cut by not doing this drive is then calculated.
Users are asked to pledge to take public transport of walk or ride these trips. The Woman Who Stops Traffic is on Tuesday night 9pm on C4, and follows Kris Murran to make the town of Marlow car free for one day.
The application is live here: http://www.channel4.com/lifestyle/green/woman_stops_traffic/car_free_map.html
