3 Executive Committee Positions

 

SU President

  • Chief spokesman and figurehead of the Union.
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day direction of the Union.
  • Oversee the finances of the Union and in conjunction with the Accounts Manager, be responsible for its financial position.
  • Work with students with disciplinary/academic problems
  • Responsible for team of staff including permanent and part time staff, as well as executive committee.
  • Organise social events, Freshers Week, Balls including Graduation Party etc
  • Be a full and active member of the University Board of Governors and its sub committees.
  • Liaise closely with the University directorate and senior staff.
  • Be responsible for the interpretation of the Union constitution and rules.
  • Coordinate the work of the Union Executive committees.
  • Liaise with the NUS.
  • Be the Union's press and media point of contact.
  • Be responsible for the Unions' strategic planning process.
  • Be responsible for the Unions' installations on campus.
  • Involve students in Union tasks and activities.

AU President

  • Be responsible for all administration for sports clubs, including, affiliations, insurance, competition entries, individual entries, nominations
  • Oversee, in conjunction with the Accounts Manager, the accounts and management of all clubs/societies.
  • Be responsible for allocation of Students' Union grants to clubs/societies.
  • Development of clubs & societies to ensure every student has access.
  • BUSA & SESSA Administration, including weekly fixtures and results, checking weekly mailouts for BUSA information.
  • Organise Â"Match PacksÂ" for each away team.
  • Be responsible for fixtures management and logistics.
  • Keeping all students and staff informed of sports and societies developments, fixtures and results.
  • As AU President you are expected to support and deputise for the President, jointly coordinate Freshers Week, Summer and Christmas Balls.
  • You will work closely with Facilities manager and Director of Sport.
  • SU Rep for Sport St Mary's.
  • Excellent organisational skills are essential

 

RAG Chair

 

  • Raise money for local and national charities.
  • Organise and provide series of week long events.
  • Promote RAG as a voluntary opportunity for students.
  • Coordinate and oversee the running and functioning of the RAG Committee.
  • Liaise with Accounts Manager regarding finances.
  • Be responsible for licence applications, permits, administration and distribution of profits.
  • Coordinate with the Students' Union to ensure that all publications and activities are in line with the SU Constitution.
  • Attend Students' Union meetings

RAG Assistant

 

To deputise and assist in all of the above.

 

Executive Committee

 

These positions are without portfolio, allowing students to promote issues of their choice, and to provide direct feedback from the students to the SU. The Executive Committee role to include:

 

  • Attend Students' Union meetings
  • Work towards campaign issues
  • Assist in planning of SU events
  • Attend Student Services meetings if required
  • Other duties as agreed with Students' Union
