A Message from University Senior Managment
FINAL WARNING
Since the beginning of term reports from neighbours and the emergency services regarding unacceptable student behaviour have been increasing culminating in some very serious incidents last night, Wednesday 12th October 2011. The University College and Students’ Union have dedicated significant time and resources to managing this problem, such as increased security patrols and entering into partnerships with local night clubs to provide safe and reliable transportation. In spite of our efforts, the behaviour of a significant minority of students is continuing to bring the University College’s reputation into disrepute. You are hereby advised that we are now increasing our efforts, in conjunction with relevant authorities, including the police and British transport police, using CCTV and other evidence, to identify those responsible (be it in the surrounding neighbourhood, on public transport and on campus).
The University College will bring to bear the full force of the student disciplinary procedures on those identified as involved in such incidents in order to protect its reputation and that of the majority of its students. So far this term, we have implemented final written warnings, fines and community service for those in breach of the disciplinary policy. You are reminded that this policy allows for expulsion in appropriate circumstances.
Professor Janine Griffiths-Baker, Deputy Principal and Mr. David Leen, Vice Principal.
(in conjunction with the Students’ Union)
